Did you know?

Services” section in the “Post Office Of The Year For Wales”
competition.
- In 1981 HRH Prince Charles planted an oak tree at the
entrance to the old playing field (opposite the entrance to the
existing one). The spade he used is on display in the Hall’s Committee

- In 1984 the W.I. won the Fisons ‘Beautifying Britain’
national competition for their plans to put hanging baskets and window
boxes around the village hall – still in place and giving pleasure to
everyone.

Johnathon Pickard and Gladiator’s Cobra and Ace (accompanied by his,
then, girlfriend and the, now, infamous model, I‘m
A Celebrity... and other TV work, Jordan, aka Katie Price). Paul
‘Gazza’ Gascoine enjoyed a pint and game of darts at The Punch Bowl Inn
whilst the national press and television stations were trying to trace
his whereabouts!
- A previous incumbent of the Church, Rev. Sapsford, was the
brother - in - law of Sir Harry Secombe
